Amenities

For those who live & work downtown, or if you're just visiting, you couldn't ask for better amenities.

From schools to top attractions, Downtown Vancouver offers a little something for everyone.

For families, there’s a excellent selection of both public and private schools in the area.  Post secondary options include notable names like Simon Fraser University UBC Sauder and BCIT.  Walkability is a 10/10 in the downtown core, which gives both residents and tourists easy access to the seawall where you can bike, run or go for a leisurely walk around downtown, and if you’re feeling energetic, take on the 10km route through Stanley Park.

Listing all the amenities downtown would be long and extensive, but some key highlights include The Vancouver Public Library, Vancouver Convention Centre, St. Pauls Hospital, The Vancouver Art Gallery and the historic steam clock in Gastown.

Shop & Dine

The choices are endless with a vast array of budget to high end spots to experience.

The ultimate place to shop & dine, Downtown's diverse selection of restaurants and shops are literally at your fingertips. And the best part - you walk to all of them!

Pacific Centre Mall is the anchor for shopping in the downtown core.  You’ll brand-name fashion, like Holt Renfrew and Nordstrom, dotted throughout the mall.

Venture outside and stroll along Vancouver’s most famous retail destination, Robson Street, which is a large mix of boutique shops, big box names and a mix of ethnic and chain restaurants. If you’re looking for a bit more grit in your shopping experience, head south on Granville Street where you can find a unique selection of boutique shops, bars and restaurants.

Entertainment

The hub of entertainment downtown starts with the Granville Entertainment District.

Stretching, roughly, from Nelson Street to Robson Street, downtown Granville Street is packed with bars and nightclubs, making it easy to club-hop from one destination to another.

Legendary venues like The Commodore Ball Room host live bands and big-name DJs, while smaller bands and venues host a number of events.  The popular Orpheum Theatre always has a long list of performing arts and live bands to see.

If you’re into live sports, there’s no better place than Downtown.  Catch a Canucks game at Rogers Centre, see a Whitecaps soccer match or catch the BC Lions football game at BC Place.
