Spanish Banks Beach

Vancouver, BC

One of the best beaches and views in Vancouver, Spanish Banks is one of the largest beaches in Vancouver and a true “skimmers” paradise.

This stunning series of beaches are located in the West Point Grey neighbourhood along English Bay with spectacular views of the North Shore Mountains.

Located along Northwest Marine Dr. west of Tolmie St., Spanish Banks Beach is composed of three distinct sections, east, west, and extension.

This expansive beach offers fantastic picnicking, swimming, beach volleyball, running or biking while you take in the panoramic view of Vancouver and the mountains.

Tranquil and sparkling on summer mornings, Spanish Bank quickly fills with people as the sun comes out and the temperature rises. One of Vancouver’s most popular beaches, this great expanse of sand and surf is loved by beach volleyball players, sunbathers, swimmers, skim boarders and those who like to relax and enjoy the spectacular views.

The notable low tides, which push out close to 1km, is a paradise for skim boarders, dog owners (in the winter) and beach explorers.

You’ll normally find lots of beach goers making a full day out of it and waiting for the stunning sunsets that overlook this beauty of a beach. It’s something that every Vancouverite and visitor should experience.
