Beach Guide

Kitsilano Beach

Vancouver, BC

Kitsilano Beach is one of the city’s most famous beaches and is renowned for its stunning views of the North Shore Mountains and its vibrant atmosphere.

This world-famous beach is the #1 sandy destination in Vancouver.

Kitsilano Beach is both Vancouver’s most popular beach and its most famous; in fact, many have drawn comparison to California’s Venice Beach, only Canadianized.

Situated along the shores of English Bay, on the south side of the Burrard Inlet, Kitsilano Beach is rife with recreational opportunities from swimming, basketball, tennis and beach volleyball.  There’s several large green spaces to relax, read a book and take in some rays.  A kid’s playground is located on the eastern side of the beach, that’s ideal for the family for a day at the beach.

Kitsilano Beach is home to Kitsilano Pool, one of the longest saltwater pools in North America. This outdoor, heated salt-water pool boasts a wrap-around view of the city, ocean and mountains. It’s almost three times the size of an Olympic pool.

The beach is surrounded by a number of good daytime eateries close by to grab a meal, either sit down or to-go. Stay beachside and grab a bite to eat at The Boathouse or stroll your way up to Cornwall & Yew Street where you’ll find several hots spots like The Local, Nook, Chewies and The Cider House.

On The Map

Kitsilano Beach is located on the northern edge of Kitsilano and overlooks Downtown Vancouver, the West End & The North Shore Mountains.
