English Bay Beach

Vancouver, BC

One of the most notable beaches in Vancouver, English Bay is a beautiful, vibrant beach that comes alive when it’s sunny and warm out.

Also known as First Beach by the locals, English Bay Beach is one of Vancouver's gems.

Located in West End along Beach Avenue, this popular sandy destination is just south of world-famous Stanley Park, offers some of the most amazing views and is a "go to" hotspot for many visitors & locals.

This long expanse of beach flanks the southwestern portion of the West End. The trademark palm trees, vibrant flowers and ocean breeze create a tropical atmosphere. People come here in droves as this special local is loaded with tons of things to do, from walking the seawall to playing beach volleyball.

Bustling Beach Avenue, Denman Street and Davie Village offer up some great places to eat, drink and shop, so you can literally spend the morning, afternoon & evening at the beach and casually wander throughout the day.

There are plenty of events that land at English Bay, but the two notable annual events that drawn huge crowds are the Honda Celebration of Light fireworks in July and the Polar Bear swim on January 1.

On The Map
