Large & magnificent historic mansions with expansive manicured lots are guarded by giant trees lining large residential blocks.

Without a doubt, Shaughnessy is one of the most desirable communities in Vancouver. With the older, particularly large mansions, it’s easy to imagine the large and lavish events that would have taken places during the past century.

Shaughnessy is located on the west side of Vancouver and bordered by Fairview, South Cambie, South Granville, Quilchena and Arbutus Ridge.

Shaughnessy is home to the famous VanDusen Botanical Gardens.

The 55 acres of lush landscape is one of Vancouver's prized possessions and something that should be experienced.

The residential area of Shaughnessy is spoiled with greenspace and boasts Shaughnessy has five parks in the area. Going for a stroll, taking your four-legged friend,  or simply relaxing in on of the parks is easy to do.  The most acclaimed greenspace, VanDusen Botantical Gardens, a 55-acre oasis in the heart of Vancouver with over 7,500 plant species. The VanDusen Festival of Lights is a magical winter wonderland with more than one million lights illuminating during the holiday season. Families will enjoy the vast amount of schooling options in and around the neighbourhood. Shaughnessy Elementary School, Quilchena Elementary, Carr Elementary and Prince of Wales Secondary Schools. Private education options include Vancouver College, Little Flower Academy & York House School.

You're just a short drive away from local shops on South Granville.

South Granville is home to a great selection of local shops, dining, lifestyle and fine art stores and pharmacies.

Just south of Shaughnessy is Kerrisdale Village, home to a mix of older, locally-owned shops and newer boutiques, as well as charming cafés, eateries, and organic markets. Stretched along along 41st Avenue and West Boulevard, it’s a perfect destination for a Sunday stroll in the Village where you’ll discover everything from bakeries to bike shops. The village is also home to larger retailers like London Drugs, Hills of Kerrisdale & Kerrisdale Cameras.
